Summary

The October 1964 Beaver Beacon identifies Venus II as a fishing tug used by William Belfy and Roland McCann from 1937 to 1940 and again through about 1950. Belfy recalled that fishing had declined sharply by then and that Venus II was one of the last tugs fishing gill nets from Beaver Island.
