David White, age 19, was identified in January 1974 as a Lansing Shoal Light Station crew member rescued near Garden Island after an attempted New Year’s Eve trip to Beaver Island. An independent lighthouse personnel list also places a David White at the station in 1973–74.

Evidence and limits

Neither source gives a full civil identity or vital dates, and the newspaper does not explain the “FA” rank/rating abbreviation. The circa-1954 birth year is age-derived, not a birth record.
