Summary

This preliminary June 11, 2013 Notre Dame Irish Stories report presents the results of the project’s 2012 excavation at the Dan and Catherine Boyle Farm Site (20CX204) on Beaver Island. It combines field methods, preliminary artifact analysis, public outreach, and student research within the project’s larger study of Irish immigrant experience and identity.

This is a preliminary project report, not a final archaeological inventory, land-title record, or complete Boyle-family history. The KB preserves the report’s site name, accession, methods, counts, and stated curation plan without publishing a coordinate, identifying every person associated with the farm, converting artifact interpretation into ancestry, or treating the reported visitor and artifact numbers as independently audited records.
