Summary
The audit matched the name South Fox Island in a held island planning
document, 2024-2028-beaver-island-recreation-plan-fa1f69af, which the index
carries undated. It kept the body as a local mention because the mention names
South Fox by direction rather than a bare Fox Island. What follows is the
indexed context. The page holds more.
Indexed context
ription Township Location & History Peaine Township occupies the larger southern portion of Beaver Island, with its northern boundary running through the lower portion of Font Lake. It is noted in red below. Beaver Island is the largest island in the Beaver island Archipelago in Lake Michigan, totaling (14) islands. Beaver Island is the only island in the archipelago home to a permanent population (with the exception of staff at Mirada Ranch on South Fox Island), with a scheduled ferry and two airline services having scheduled, daily flights. Eleven of the islands fall within St. James Township, which is also the most northern one-sixth of Beaver Island. They include Garden Island, Hog Island, Ojibwa Island (formerly known as Squaw Island), Whiskey Island, High Island, Gull Island, and the Islands of Trout, Pismire, Grape, Shoe and Hat. The remining two islands, North Fox Island and South Fox Island,
Scope and limits
A mention is not an event. Where a held source supports one, a curated article
under event/ carries the claim and this record is only its evidence.
Deduplication here suppresses byte-identical bodies alone, so a second OCR
edition of the same page is still a second record. The name is not unique to
Michigan either, which is why the audit tests for a local cue at all. Read the
cited source before you cite it.
