Dorothy Allers Evans identified her parents as the owners of the Mary Margaret and described the vessel as the Charlevoix–Beaver Island mail boat from 1937 to 1948; other participants supplied family and later-vessel history. This is valuable family testimony and community recollection, but the thread contains corrections and multiple similarly named vessels, so it does not by itself prove the identity of the 1945 vessel.
