Summary

Joseph “Bussy” La Freniere was reported as the hunter who got the first deer of the 1960 Beaver Island Game Club season. This is the same man documented more fully at Joseph “Bussy” LaFreniere, who married Alberta Gronke a year later, in November 1961, and whom the Beaver Beacon’s cemetery-matched entry gives as Joseph M. “Bussey” LaFreniere (1918–1995), son of Nelson J. and Sophia Boyle LaFreniere — the same parents recorded for Daniel Archie LaFreniere (Archie Lafreniere).

Evidence and limits

The distinctive recurring Bussy/Bussey/Buzzy LaFreniere name bridges this record to Joseph M. “Bussey” LaFreniere (1918–1995) and to the fuller biography at Joseph “Bussy” LaFreniere. The cemetery source supplies years only; no source describes the deer itself (weight, location, or method).

Open questions

  • A later consolidation pass could fold this record into Joseph “Bussy” LaFreniere and retire this file to a redirect note, since both describe the same man.
