Summary
Johnny Gillespie was named among the February 14, 1974 Naubinway travelers; the same issue lists John Gillespie in the January 27 cross-country race results.
Evidence and limits
Later research identified this as the same man as John Wayne Gillespie, son of Jewell and Rita Gillespie, husband of Jeanne Marie Wojan, and Saint James Township supervisor from November 1974: he appears under both “Johnny” and “John” in other issues of the same period, including as township supervisor in the same month as this race. His full biography is gathered at the main record; this notice is kept separate as the source-specific episode it documents.
