JAMES LIGHTHOUSES Lighthouses are an iconic sight here on Beaver Island and represent an important part of the island's story. Yet these stations are either automated or decommissioned. So, why should we care? We will discuss their history, some of the lighthouse keepers and families involved, and get to understand why these maritime structures are still important.
