HOW CAN WE IDENTIFY THE SCALE AND SCOPE OF THE ISLAND'S CLEAN UP NEEDS & WORK TOGETHER TO FIND SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS... NOW AND IN THE FUTURE? HOW CAN WE SUPPORT THE EFFORTS OF THE MANY PROGRAMS & VOLUNTEERS ALREADY WORKING TO KEEP THE ISLAND CLEAN? HOW CAN WE ASSIST LANDOWNERS LOOKING FOR HELP WITH JUNK ACCUMULATION, BOTH LARGE AND SMALL... AND PREVENT FUTURE PILE UP? It's time for a junk census! JOESJUNK.ORG COMPLETE OUR ONLINE SURVEY Island volunteers are making an effort to survey island property owners who have unwanted cars, scrap, large debris, and other junk. Completing the survey does NOT commit property owners to taking action, but does help us gauge interest in: - Demand for a summer clean up drive - Possible state & federal grant opportunities - Identifying the most common or difficult cases - More information for practical, longer solutions Survey information will be shared with both townships. We encourage all islanders to participate in this effort and spread the word!
