A vertically oriented nautical chart shows a large body of water surrounded by detailed shorelines and numerous islands. The chart contains depth soundings, navigation routes, compass roses, latitude and longitude lines, harbor details, and blocks of printed notes. Land areas are shaded yellow, while water is primarily white and blue.
